MASCARPONE
GF
Cremello 16.2hh 1995-2001 Stallion
German
Warmblood (ZfDP) / Zweibrücker (ZW)
Approved for: RPSI, ZfDP, Baden-Württemberg, Sachsen-Anhalt,
Brandenburg
By Mega-Star (ZW) out of Panachée (ZW)
MASCARPONE was the first approved
cremello Warmblood stallion in the world. He was
registered in Germany as a fully approved warmblood breeding
stallion (with the Rheinland-Pfalz-Saar) with impressive
scores. As a cremello (son of two palominos), he was guaranteed
to produce 100% special colors in his offspring: Buckskin,
Palomino or Smokey Black, depending on the color of the
mare put to him. Being the ONLY cremello warmblood breeding
stallion ever approved in Germany, his palomino and buckskin
colored warmblood offspring command HUGE prices in Europe.
Quite apart from his rare color and the guarantee of unusually
colored foals, he was also known for his three outstanding
paces, his tremendous elasticity and for his superb technique,
bascule and scope over fences. That wasn’t surprising
considering that in his Hanoverian and Trakehner-dominated
bloodlines, we find some of the top jumping and dressage
blood of history. On the top of his pedigree, he goes
back to the famous Trakehner stallion MARDUC, who was
well known for siring horses of great rideability and
dressage talent. His grandsire, MORGENGOLD I, was a top
show jumping stallion in Ireland. On his dam’s side,
he is double bred through PHILIPPO, who showed to the
very top levels of dressage in Europe. He also goes back
twice to the legendary Hanoverian stallion WENDEKREIS,
who combines predominantly jumping blood, and twice through
the Hessian mare WEMBLEY, he goes to the incredible jumping
sire FERDINAND. This outstanding blood, combined with
the blood of the famous warmblood sires DOMSPATZ and GRANDE,
complete the picture of a supreme pedigree.
His
nobility was owed in large part to the Anglo-Arab influence
in his pedigree, through the mother line of FORTUNA. MASCARPONE'S
offspring have fulfilled all dreams with many premium
awarded and top class winning offspring. Sadly, he died
tragically in an accident, so only a limited number
of offspring were produced. At the time of his death in 2001, he was still the ONLY approved cremello Warmblood stallion in the world.

By Malteser Gold (Hessen) out of Isabella (Hessen)
Approved
with Rheinland-Pfalz-Saar in 1991, MORGENGOLD I is a
top Show Jumping stallion in Ireland and has won many
events at the upper levels. A daughter of MORGENGOLD
I won the All-Ireland Championship in Goresbridge while
a son of his was winner of the Irish Jumping Championship
in Millstreet. MORGENGOLD I has also produced a graded
son (MEGA-STAR). He is currently one of only five approved
German Warmblood (Deutsches Reitpferd) Palomino stallions
WORLDWIDE. The other 4 are: Morgengold II (Zweibruecker-Germany),
Win the Gold (ZfDP-Germany), Inspiration GF (Oldenburg-Germany)
and Blonder Hans (Brandenburger-USA).
MORGENGOLD I's sire, MALTESER GOLD, is a son of the
famous Dressage sire MARDUC (Trakehner) and has to date
produced 5 graded sons. His dam, ISABELLA, has produced
2 further graded sons by the same stallion, MORGENGOLD
II and MANGOLD N.
MORGENGOLD
I's dam-sire, MAGISTER, was one of the most important
Trakehner stallions of the 1970s, famous for his unique
character and a producer of competition horses for both
Dressage and Jumping. Looking at the next generation
down, we find further East Prussian (Trakehner) blood
in ILMENGRUND and TAIFUN, who have both passed their
beautiful type down to MORGENGOLD I. |

MALTESER
GOLD
Flaxen Chestnut 16.2hh 1983
Stallion
Hessen
By Marduc (Trak.) out of Altamira (Hess.)
A
proven sire, MALTESER GOLD combines the very best of
sportshorse-pedigrees with his noble yet extravagant
coloring. His sire, the famous Dressage sire MARDUC,
is widely considered to be one of the most important
Trakehner stallions of today, and has justified this
view by consistently producing Championship sons and
daughters. On MALTESER GOLD’s dam’s side,
we find the great Jumping-horse sire RATSHERR, who is
considered a guarantor for Jumpers of high rideability;
as well as ARNOST (who is by the great Hannoverian sire
ABHANG I).
MALTESER
GOLD has sired over 5 graded stallions and has hit the
headlines in breeding circles, especially because of
his always highly placed State Premium daughter MALTESERIN.
His son, MORGENGOLD I , was sold in 1991 after being
successfully graded by the Breed Association Rheinland-Pfalz-Saar.
He went to Ireland and was the most successful horse
of his class in 1992 - within a year of arriving.

FERDINAND
Brown 16.1hh
1941 Stallion
Hanoverian
By FERRARA (Hanov.) out of HERZENSKIND (Hanov.)
Born in 1941 and died 1970, FERDINAND was one of Germany’s
Top Ten Eternal Sires. In his time, FERDINAND was perhaps
the most famous producer of jumping horses in the world.
FERDINAND had earnings of over 1.5 million deutschmarks
and sired 12 approved sons, 194 competition horses,
and 165 Main Studbook mares even though he was 18 years
old before his first offspring, Ferdl made him famous.
As a seven year old with just one year of jumping experience,
FERDL went to the 1960 Rome Olympics representing Germany
and became a gold medal winner in Showjumping. Another
Ferdinand son, POMME d’API, earned over DM100,000
and held the European puissance record of 7 foot seven
inches. The 15.2 hand FERDINAND son, FLIPPER, won 75
Advanced classes, including 12 Grand Prix, for a total
of DM290,000.
But it wasn’t only in jumping that FERDINAND excelled
as a sire. His son, MEHMED, won the World Dressage Championship
with Reiner Klimke in 1974, and at the 1976 Olympic
Games, won individual Bronze in the Gold Medal winning
team. The FERDINAND son, WENDEKREIS, was another enormous
influence, who produced over 50 approved stallions and
400 main stud book mares. The WENDEKREIS son, WERTHER,
is famous for producing horses with a wonderful trot
and attitude for dressage.
FERDINAND
is by FERRARA, a descendent from the mighty FEINER KERL,
who is by FLING. The dam of GRANDE is also descended
from FLING on
her sire’s side, and from FEINER KERL on her maternal

1958 Hanoverian Stallion
By GRAF (Hanov.) out of DUELLFEST (Hanov.)
Born in 1958 and died in 1989, GRANDE sired over 33
approved sons and 34 State Premium mares, and sent three
of his Showjumping progeny to the Olympic Games –
GRANDE GISO (Holland), GRANDE (USA) and GUTE SITTE (Belgium).
His
grand children have also excelled – GALAPAGOS
represented Germany at the 1982 World Championships,
and was one of the first stars of the ‘new’
class, Freestyle Dressage to Music. GRANDEUR (Gralsritter)
won over a million Deutschmarks in a spectacular showjumping
career, and since then has proven himself as a superior
sire. GRANDE’s son, GRAPHIT, sired winners of
over almost two million DM and sired one of the most
important jumping stallions of them all, GRANNUS. The
GRAPHIT son, GRUNDSTEIN, was one of Germany’s
leading stallions before his export to the United States.
Another son, GRADITZ, sired Isabell Werth’s Olympic
and World Championship star, GIGOLO. GRANDE’s
son, GARIBALDI II, sired the American dressage star
GIFTED, who carried Carol Lavell to a team bronze at
the 1992 Games and placed 4th individually. GARIBALDI
II died at the age of only 14 which was a great loss.
GRANDE
represents the old Hanoverian Goldschaum xx line, carried

IMPULS**
Bay 16.1hh 1953 Stallion
Trakehner
By Humboldt (Trak.) out of Italia (Trak.) - Eichendorf
(Trak.)
Considered
by many to be the most important sire post World-War
II, IMPULS sired 17 approved sons and 117 studbook daughters
that were registered with the Trakehner Verband. His
progeny have won the most prestigious young horse competition
of the world, the German National Championships, 14
times.
IMPULS is a son of the great HUMBOLDT, who was the first-place
winner of the 1951 DLG at Hamburg and the sire of 8
approved sons and 48 studbook daughters. IMPULS' dam,
ITALIA, is a legend in her own right. She received scores
of 1, 2, 0/0, 1 (where "0" is the best possible
score), made the "trek" from East Prussia
despite shrapnel in her hind leg, and founded her own
mare family, dying at the age of 18 after giving birth
to her last foal.
The
German Stallion Book provides as follows:
"Strong, important breeding stallion with good
stallion expression. Noble, character-full head; well-set
and well-carried neck; good in the withers and shoulder;
very beautiful in the topline; especially muscular,
well-formed croup; excellent hocks, just a bit straighter
than ideal. Well-formed knees; short sturdy cannons;
well-muscled forearm; front pasterns somewhat upright,
the hooves having a slight tendency to contracted heels.
Straight, very swinging way of going. In all a very
correct breeding stallion.
He is paramount in the production
of good broodmares with much substance, best foundation
and good character - for example the Hämelschenburger
Mares Schwalbenlied (Elite mare, mother of Santiago),
Kassiopeia (mother of Kassiber and Kastilio), Kaprice
II (mother of Karneval), Zauberspiel (mother of Zauberklang),
Valerie (mother of Valerian), Viktoria (mother of Vincent).
Some sons are valuable breeding stallions, and some
children have excelled in competition, both in jumping
and in dressage." |

imported into the U.S. in 1982. Comments from German
Trakehner Stallion Book: "Very high
quality, with very good breed and stallion type; good,
proudly carried neck, clean overall impression; very
well-balanced and harmonious in all parts of his body;
quite strong and correct in his foundation; good mover.
Donauwind is one of the best progenitors of the post-war
time; equally good in producing broodmares and stallions
(for example: Matador and Abdullah). His get have pleasant
dispositions and are easy to ride."
